Why Your Business Card Needs a QR Code in 2026
Eight out of ten paper business cards end up in a drawer within a week. The other two often get retyped wrong — a misspelled email, a missed digit in a phone number, a lost lead. A business card QR code closes that gap. One scan, and your full digital vCard — name, title, company, phone, email, website, social profiles — is saved natively to the recipient's address book.
For sales and business development, the impact is measurable. A printed QR turns the second of contact exchange into a moment of lead conversion: tap, save, follow up. Instant dialing on tap-to-call numbers, click-through to LinkedIn, an email composer pre-filled with your subject line — every action is a touchpoint preserved.
And unlike app-based "smart cards" that lock contacts inside a vendor, a vCard QR is a standard everyone already supports — no installation, no account, no friction. It is the most professional, most reliable bridge between paper and digital that you can put on a business card.

Print-accurate mockup
The card preview matches US standard dimensions (3.5″ × 2″). What you see is exactly what your printer will produce.
Horizontal & vertical

Error correction H by default
30% of the QR can be damaged or scuffed and it will still scan. Perfect for cards that live in wallets and pockets.

Your name, phone, email, and social URLs never leave your browser. The vCard is built locally — we have no server to receive it.

Print & Compatibility — FAQ
Practical answers from print and design experience.
What size should a QR code be on a business card?
Aim for at least 0.8 inches (2 cm) wide for reliable smartphone scanning at arm's length. The standard sweet spot is 1 inch (2.5 cm) — large enough to scan instantly, small enough to leave room for your contact details. Our mockup enforces print-correct sizing as you adjust the slider.
What file format should I send to the printer?
SVG and EPS are best — both are vector formats that print at perfect crispness regardless of card size. Avoid PNG and JPEG for business cards: raster formats can blur at small print sizes (especially the QR's fine modules). Most professional printers and designers prefer EPS specifically, since it integrates directly with Adobe Illustrator and other design tools.
Will my business card QR work on every phone?
Yes. Modern iPhones (iOS 11+) and Android devices (Android 8+) read QR codes natively from the camera app — no special app required. Older devices may need a free QR scanner app, but they are an increasingly small minority. We use the standardized vCard 3.0 format, supported by every modern smartphone, every email client, and every CRM.
What if my business card gets scratched or worn?
This generator defaults to error correction level H (High) — the QR remains scannable even if up to 30% of its surface is damaged. Wallet wear, fingerprints, scuffs, and minor folds will not affect scanning. For metal or engraved cards (lower contrast), we still recommend H.
